In Our
Community . . .
The Laurel Community of Christ is involved in several Community activities and organizations, both within Laurel and beyond. We support these efforts with our people and/or our contributions: |
| The Laurel Advocacy and Referral Service , LARS, is a community organization that provides assistance to families and individuals in crisis. Its mission is to provide assistance for basic living needs; food, shelter, applicable living skills, resources and referral to other agencies and organizations. LARS helps people identify needs, solve problems, and gain self-sufficiency so that their lives can be restored. It is supported financially by area churches, individual contributors, civic groups, and grants from government agencies. The staff of LARS consists of licensed social workers, social work students, and a cadre of volunteers. For more information, please contact the LARS office at (301) 776-0442 or write to LARS: 311 Laurel Ave, Laurel, MD 20707. You can find out more about LARS here. | |
