A Message to General Members

To General Members of the Chesapeake Bay Mission Center of Community of Christ:

We hope and pray that you are healthy and living abundantly and that the blessings of joyful living extend to your families as well.  We are writing to you for several reasons:
  1. To affirm your value to our faith community and to invite you to participate in ways  that bring you joy as you share ministry of presence, stories of your journey with God, skill and giftedness, good news and concerns.
  2. To share news of the ministries offered within Chesapeake Bay Mission Center (CBMC) that may be of value to you and your families
  3. To inquire about ways we can support you
  4. To gather communication information to help us stay connected

During the pandemic, we have been worshipping, learning and serving together primarily virtually.  But as our local communities rebound, we are beginning to offer hybrid experiences- in-person and, at the same time, virtual so that all persons have access to participate in community.  If you would like more information about connecting virtually, please follow this link: Connect Virtually

Some new ministries have blossomed over the last 18 months . . . or are soon to begin.  For additional information, please explore the other pages of this website.
             1.  Elevated Conversation every Friday at noon via Zoom
             2.  Women's Book Club monthly Wednesday 7 – 8:30 pm via Zoom
             3.  Devotion Sundays 9:30 AM On-line/Facebook
             4.  Book of Mormon discussion every other Saturday at 10 am via Zoom
             5.  Book Club for children ages 4-8  On-line - beginning soon
             6.  Harry Potter and the Sacred Text for youth grades 4-8  On-line

We are always looking for new ways to express God’s love in the world and would love for you to be part of that discovery process.

In addition to the ministries of CBMC, Community of Christ International Headquarters website offers an abundance of resources for personal meditation, spiritual development, Christian Education, engaging in mission, worship, connecting with current social concerns of peace and justice, global ecology and more.  (https://www.CofChrist.org)   Over 400 podcasts that address theology, social concerns, church history, new expressions of ministry and more with the leaders of our faith community and those most knowledgeable in their various fields are a rich resource available at https://www.projectzionpodcast.org

May you be blessed as you continue to grow in your knowledge and love of the One who created you and continually seeks to be in relationship with you as Comforter, Advocate and Guide.  Feel free to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

Yours in Christ,
Sally Walton
